I am currently reading a book from C S Lewis titled 'A Grief Observed', It was lent to me by my friend and old workmate Revd Rachel. I am finding it helpful as I read it on the train on my way to Canterbury with my daughter. I am also hoping to visit my twin sister's daughters while down there.
Things are being managed now, I am off work for the next two weeks (GP gave me three weeks, one week has passed now) and I have an appointment scheduled with a counsellor. I am receiving lots of advice from friends and close ones, many of them useful and helpful. My boss has been very supportive and it was on his urgings I visited my GP.
I snapped at one of my close friends the other day when he suggested sharing in the open only had the effect of making my grief raw, I responded, 'You are not a twin so you do not understand what I am going through.' He took it in good spirit I must say.
I know I will get there but I want to ensure I navigate this journey and bury nothing at all. So help me God!
