The usual tradition of Nigerians is to gather together in prayer, in a church, to see in the new year. This is done with much praise worship and prayers. This is a practice I used to enjoy and even organise until my twin sister transitioned to heaven.
Now I simply reflect on my own while my family goes on to a local Nigerian gathering to fellowship with others. This year I see no reason to alter this routine, due to the number of relatives on holidays with us we will no doubt provide a significant number at the church.
I have spent the greater part of today praying and reflecting, Folashade has loomed large. I know as far as I live I will carry the torch for both of us, she shall never be forgotten. When people see me, they will remember her. There is still some more prayers to do before the year 2011 closes.
I thank God he has spared me for now and given me extra time to fulfil his works, starting from today I shall move to the next level, so help me God! Folashade, you remain the best!
