I was having a healthy discussion with my daughter yesterday about prayers, she prayed that no should be killed in Libyan war and I said she could not pray like that. She asked why? I responded by stating that in war it is inevitable that people will be killed and that death for all of us is inevitable but we pray that it comes only after we have fulfilled his purposes on this earth. She then said the bible says 'With long life will I satisfy you.' I said yes, but my own interpretation is that the in the lenght of the years we will find satisfaction and it is possible to have length of years and no satisfaction. I do hope I was right but am open to correction on this.
I have relayed this conversation to open up my own struggles with the loss of my twin so early in life, I had thought we would grow old together with many more decades ahead, but this was not the case. It is, however, instructive to note, that in her short space of time she fulfilled God's purpose for her life and she is now dwelling in the glorious, beautiful room in heaven. There are lots of mysteries about this life and one day God will reveal more to us.
I am in the office at Hertfordshire today, attending one of the few meeting am required to attend in my operations' role, we will be talking numbers. I cannot seem to run away from numbers and its connection to time, for it seems to me that time is flying past, and we must work while it is day for the night comes when no one can work.
