I was awoken by the ringing sound of my mobile phone this morning around 7am, I had forgotten to switch it off over night. It was the delivery people from Comet, on their way to deliver our new cooker hob, courtesy of British Gas.
The excitement was soon replaced with disappointment when they arrived. On close inspection of my kitchen they claimed the electricity socket near the hob was too near and did not comply with new regulations so they could not install it. What a let down! We have in the meantime found a solution to the local difficulty.
This story narrates life, it is full of hopes and yet in a moment disappointment could be around the corner, but for those of us that have a Christian faith we learn to leave life in God's hands.
When my twin had her 1st daughter after many years of waiting, it was a cause of overwhelming joy to me. At the British Civil Service where I worked I applied and was given special leave on account of the birth and my need to travel to London to be with her. Many simply could not understand what was my beef was, why did he need too apply for special leave? They simply did not understand our bond, the bond of twinship. But I was able to go ahead of my family and be with my twin sister. The resemblance of her daughter who was later name Moshopefoluwa was striking, she was certainly from the Ojedokun line.
It is on Moshope and her siblings that future rests, because they are there, we have hope and are encouraged to do right by Folashade.
