Staff School, Unilag...

Folashade with my 1st daughter….

I have missed writing in my blog, but suddenly I got the urge to write after the excitement of being reunited with my University of Lagos Staff School mates. Through the use of Blackberry messenger we have over the past week engaged in chatting, bringing back nostalgia from the good old days. It is remarkable that a few of us have not really changed, while many others have changed. We sometimes struggle with memories of who we were but remain true to ourselves.

This has taken me back to primary school memories, all my reports characterised me as 'moody and withdrawn' and am quite certain that two things contributed to it. The loss of my father in 1972 and the separation from my twin Folashade when she was for the 1st time placed in another class in staff school. I certainly did not cope well and it accounted for my primary school experience. It was only at secondary school with my conversion, becoming a 'born again' Christian that I found my vocation in preaching and was nicknamed 'Pastor' a name that sticks up till today.

They, my Staff School mates, remembered Folashade and they asked about her and I responded by saying she had gone to be with Baba God and that she had said she had seen the beautiful room hours before she passed on. Oh I do miss you 'Shade!

Today, am unable to make it to Church after a week of travelling and waking up at 4am daily, I think i deserve the rest and a period of reflection for the week to come.

The good thing about linking up with the Staff School mates is that we are planning a reunion for Lagos on the 12th of May 2012, I am supportive of this but I ask it must not end with that but must be a platform to propel us to more noble objectives. If you ask what should they be, I would respond by stating it is a matter for the group to explore. Thank you Ndidi for wanting to read my blog, am honoured. Folashade, I shall represent both of us!
