I am looking forward to a board meeting of an international charity in London It should get my mind focusing on making a difference. I also have the opportunity to see of my brother-in-law (twin's husband) at the London Heathrow Airport.
I have been visiting many websites on the internet just entering into the experiences of various twins and how they have coped and are coping with loss, some so helpful some not so helpful. One particular site is http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/twofold/200907/loss-twin and it suggests:
"………… is that the loss of a twin is associated with greater grief than the loss of any other relative, with the exception of a spouse."
With fraternal twins, that those who are not identical twins it is easier for people to regularly forget or be unaware that you are a twin. It therefore makes it difficult for them to appreciate what you are going through. But I always wonder what my younger brother is going through, because he too was close to my twin, it must be very hard for him too to have lost a sibling.
But our lives must go on, we must honour her memory deal with the consequences of loss but must be consumed by a powerful desire to ensure that the things she lived for and that her dreams will never die.
